Knoxville, TN—October 10, 2007 – The National Exchange Carrier Association (NECA) today announced the election of Bill Hegmann of Southwest Arkansas Telephone Cooperative, Texarkana, Arkansas, and Robert Peters of Mineral, Virginia to its Board of Directors. Hegmann will represent NECA’s small company members, those with less than $40 million in annual telecom revenues and Peters will be an outside director (a non-telecom director representing all NECA member companies).
Hegmann has been a board member since 2002; Peters, since 1999.
The fifteen member NECA board includes two representatives of Bell Operating Companies (Subset 1), two representatives of companies with greater than $40 million in annual revenues (Subset 2), six representatives from all telephone companies with less than $40 million in revenues (Subset 3), and five outside directors who represent all subsets.
