Evelyn Jerden Becomes Member of NECA Board of Directors

Whippany, NJ—February 4, 2008 – The National Exchange Carrier Association (NECA) announced today that Evelyn Jerden has become a member of its Board of Directors. Jerden, a Senior Vice President at the LICT Corporation and a director at the Western New Mexico telephone company will become a Subset 2 member of the board. Subset 2 members represent telephone companies with more than $40 million in annual revenue. Jerden replaces Kevin Albaugh of the North Pittsburgh Telephone Company who has resigned from the board.

Ms. Jerden has many years of experience in the field of rural telecommunications. She has been the Director of Revenue Requirements with Western New Mexico Telephone since 1992 and also serves as Senior Vice President of Operations for LICT which owns over 50,000 access lines in 15 study areas located in 10 states. Ms. Jerden also serves as co-chair of the Public Policy Committee of the Western Telecommunications Alliance. She began her career with Ernst & Young’s Telecommunications Group, working on numerous projects for large and small ILECs for 13 years.

The fifteen member NECA board includes two representatives of Bell Operating Companies (Subset 1), two representatives of companies with greater than $40 million in annual revenues (Subset 2), six representatives from all telephone companies with less than $40 million in revenues (Subset 3), and five outside directors who represent all subsets.
