Join us deep in the heart of Texas at EXPO 2017

By Val Kostenko, manager - IR Communications & Methods

Don’t miss out on connecting with your NECA and industry colleagues in San Antonio November 5-8 for EXPO 2017. This year’s event happens where the stars at night are big and bright, down along the scenic San Antonio River at the Grand Hyatt. Please visit our EXPO page for complete class descriptions, registration information, exhibit/sponsorship opportunities and details on accommodations and activities.

Make the connection

EXPO 2017’s theme, Making the Connection, echoes the vast array of related educational offerings for all attendees, including both A-CAM and traditional rate-of-return companies. Our Monday general session gets you started with a panel of rural association representatives discussing regulatory change and related Washington activities. Members of the Broadband Deployment Advisory Committee will follow with a readout of their activities.

Classes are offered multiple times over the course of three days so please take a moment to browse some of the subjects the sessions will encompass:

  • USF Reform and Order: plenty of offerings on this popular topic, including our annual panel discussion and multiple classroom sessions discussing effects on rates, settlements, cost recovery and support.

  • Panels, panels, panels: unique and trending subjects ripe for discussion include cybersecurity, broadband, third party services and strategic technology initiatives.

  • The Foundations of Telecommunications: the entire eight module curriculum is offered. You can attend the complete program (and earn a certificate) or choose selected modules based on your interest.

  • NECA at your service: stay current with updates to NECA pooling and forecasts, resources, tariffs and access transport options.

  • Inside and outside the Beltway: aside from the popular Washington report session, you’ll have a chance to hear about the future of the internet of things and sharpen your leadership skills.

  • Vendor and consultant sessions: Start your day by attending a 45-minute presentation by multiple vendors (Tuesday morning) and consultants (Wednesday morning) to hear the latest in technology and innovation from their respective organizations.

In addition, on Tuesday afternoon our industry consultants are invited to attend (registration required) an interactive session to ask questions and discuss issues affecting cost studies, reporting, settlements and similar topics of interest.

Welcome to Texas!

Our early registration/welcome reception commences EXPO 2017 on Sunday afternoon, November 5, from 4 p.m. to 6 p.m. Make a connection (or several), enjoy a bite and a beverage, and charge up for a comprehensive and exciting week of education and enjoyment. Our EXPO page has all the details. We hope to see you down by the river!

Please contact Val Kostenko or Nancy Turnbo with questions.
