An AOCN is an authorized entity responsible for entering data into iconectiv’s rating and routing databases. This entity may update their own records and/or the records of other companies.
Information on a company's switches, including switching functionalities, tandem homing arrangements and host/remote relationships are maintained in iconectiv's databases. In addition, the databases contain detailed information on rate centers, billing offices and exchanges (NXXs).
Yes. Each company must select an AOCN for updating iconectiv's databases on their behalf.
Correct data promotes proper call routing, recording and billing to occur across all the networks and systems that comprise the Public Switched Telephone Network. If a company's data is not kept current, network and/or billing problems may occur. Whenever a company adds a facility, is assigned a new NXX , or makes changes to their equipment or network capabilities, this must be reflected in the databases.
NECA has played an important role in the telecommunications industry for over 30 years. Our team has many areas of expertise including access, interconnection, database management and several federal/state programs. As an AOCN, NECA brings more to the table than knowledge of iconectiv's rating and routing databases. Our AOCN team provides customized service in a changing industry, to a wide variety of service providers.
NECA will assist with the completion and submission of the Central Office Code Assignment Request Forms, commonly referred to as the Part 2 Forms. Our team of trained professionals will also attempt to help you identify and resolve any network problems you may experience as they relate to your company's rating and routing data. In addition, as your company's designated AOCN, NECA will work to ensure that discrepancies do not exist between your Tariff No. 4 and iconectiv data.
