Midmonth filings provide members flexibility for rate adjustments

Is your company looking for more rate flexibility to support your marketing strategies and boost demand? Beginning in early 2017, we have offered flexibility to our members to make monthly changes to their consumer broadband-only loop rates, Subscriber Line Charges and Access Recovery Charges, to the extent allowed by FCC rules. As a result, we have made midmonth tariff filings nearly every month since to accommodate monthly rate changes.

Effort reduces data reporting burden on members

Working with our members to provide effective tariff services and remain compliant with FCC regulations requires a great deal of current information. Among the key functions this data supports are: setting rates for the annual tariff filing, including determining Access Recovery Charges and CAF ICC Support; calculating demand for other NECA tariff services; and understanding the access services and technologies member companies are deploying to meet customer needs. We recognized we needed to do our part to reduce members' workload and the challenges associated with reporting this data. We formed a work group to identify areas where we could either eliminate or reduce the amount of data requested.

Lightning fast internet speeds strike this summer

New digital subscriber line speeds recently introduced in our interstate access tariff (F.C.C. No. 5) offer additional lightning fast upload and download speeds. These additional DSL speeds allow you to offer your customers a variety of bandwidth for all types of broadband uses. There is a speed for every need ranging from casual internet browsing to streaming media to video calling.
