Service pricing tool moves to the next level

by Barbara Vrahnos, project manager – Access Technology Planning

Since introducing our service pricing tool to our members just over a year ago, we decided some enhancements, fine tuning and new features would add value to a proven pricing aid.

The SPT is a web-based interface taking the most commonly used rates and rate elements from our tariffs and placing these resources at your fingertips. We have gone from quickly and easily pricing out high capacity special access and Ethernet Transport Service circuits to incorporating:

  • Digital Subscriber Line Voice-Data and Data-Only rates;
  • historical rates for high capacity special access, ETS and DSL;
  • a link to the NECA rates report; and
  • Tariff FCC No. 6 rates.

To further improve the efficiencies of the SPT, we added Tariff No. 4 office type codes, billing percentages and location codes from the exchange carrier serving wire center to the end point, making it easier to provide customers with real-time pricing for mileage-sensitive high capacity services.

Members and authorized consultants can access the service pricing tool on our Data Collections webpage (login required; tool is in lower left column). Check out the SPT and explore the enhancements.  We always appreciate feedback so please let us know what you think!

Upcoming access charge training features SPT

  • Thursday, September 10, 2 p.m. ET

Save the date! Registration information for your preferred session is forthcoming.
