February updates

02.27.20 - The Senate unanimously passed the “Secure and Trusted Communications Networks Act of 2019," which prohibits the use of federal funds administered by the FCC to purchase communications equipment or services from any company that poses a national security risk to American communications networks. The bill also requires the FCC to establish a reimbursement program to assist small communications providers with the costs of removing prohibited equipment or services from their networks and replacing the prohibited equipment with more secure communications equipment or services.

02.06.20 - The U.S. Court of Appeals for the D.C. Circuit issued two orders, denying petitions for rehearing and petitions for rehearing en banc of the October 1, 2019 decision that upheld most of the FCC’s Restoring Internet Freedom order.
